Dean Group is recruiting an Hours of Service Associate to work with our client's safety and compliance team.This is a permanent position and hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. Salary is between $38000.00-$42000.00 based on experience. 

The Hours of Service (HOS) Support is responsible for monitoring hours of service and logbook compliance for all drivers.This role also maintains the related hours of service software and compliance reports.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitors real time hours of service alerts from Shaw tracking system and investigates the alert
  • Audits driver’s Electronic Logs (ELOG) and paper log books and identifies HOS violations
  • Investigates the occurrence of HOS violations
  • Alerts Driver Coordinators and Operations departments of violations
  • Coaches drivers regarding compliance of HOS and ELOG
  • Updates driver and truck information in TDSM database and Omnitracs database
  • Troubleshoots Qualcomm and TDSM and manually updates data that does not correctly import from other software
  • Completes daily and monthly reports regarding driver hours, violation summaries and audit scores
  • Monitors and audit all EDVIR (Electronic driver vehicle inspection reports) and paper DVIR reports
  • Ensures all EDVIR/DVIR reports are being submitted and follow MTO/DOT requirements
  • Ensures sufficient stock of paper log books are available at all locations
  • Responds to inquiries from Operations department regarding ELOG and HOS regulations
  • Performs other duties as required.

What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of progressive safety experience including working knowledge of Hours of Service regulations for US and  Canada
  • Prior work experience in the transportation industry.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
  • Detail and deadline oriented, with the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in a busy environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Active listening.
  • Proactive attitude, takes initiative to prevent issues, and has a bias towards action.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and independently with individuals at various levels is required.
  • A continuous improvement focus on work.
  • Well-organized, enthusiastic, professional and a positive team member.
