Accountant / Cost Analyst

Our client is a well-established and highly successful manufacturer of high-quality food products in the Waterloo area. They are seeking an Accountant to support their manufacturing facility in the areas of costing, month/ year end closing process as well as analysis of operational metrics.

Reporting to the CFO, you will work closely with production and operations teams in developing cost estimates and Bill of Materials. You will provide analytical support as they launch new products or modify existing products by comparing actual costs to standards and estimates as well as analyzing variances.  You will leverage your strong problem solving and analytical skills to monitor inventory and product costing. You will have the ability to own, drive and challenge stakeholders towards cost saving initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years accounting experience with exposure to costing within a manufacturing environment.  This role requires being in the office 5 days/ week and the company offers excellent benefits, vacation and encourages continuous development to enable someone to obtain their CPA designation.
