The Company and The Role

We are supporting a privately owned agri-based business that is going through growth and transformation. The company is in the midst of expanding its operations and seeking to hire a senior finance professional to lead a small team of 3 in accounting, finance and purchasing. As Controller you will own all aspects of accounting operations, financial planning and analysis, payroll, HR, purchasing and IT. 

Reporting to the GM, your mandate is to revamp the accounting and finance function to enable timely delivery of monthly financial reporting package. You will spearhead the introduction of formal budgeting, planning and forecasting activities as well as ensure all internal controls and year-end audits and financial statements are completed.  You will provide strategic support to in analyzing capital expansion as well as analyze operating results to provide business insights and highlight risks to the leadership team.

What makes you a fit:

• You are a seasoned finance professional who has worked in mid-sized private companies and has demonstrated a track record in improving accounting processes and systems.
• Experience in driving improvements in financial management while working with an entrepreneur and senior operations leaders is a must. 
• Exposure to a manufacturing or production-related industry is ideal.
• Completion of a CPA designation is nice to have. 
• Strong leadership skills to help mentor and train staff.
