With a legacy of quality and a commitment to excellence, they slaughter, process, package, and deliver fresh premium-graded beef, veal, lamb, and goat. They pride themselves on having a close-knit team of around 50 members, dedicated to delivering top-tier products.

Opportunity – Operations Leader
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced people leader to join their senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in an aggressive growth phase. You will lead a team of 5 direct reports and a broader team of 35 employees.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the Operations Team.
  • Ensure efficient and effective operation of all aspects of the facility and processes.
  • Oversee production schedules and actual production for both the kill floor and cutting room.
  • Coordinate with the Livestock Buyer to meet production schedules and delivery dates.
  • Address employee grievances and disputes efficiently, in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure acceptable yield levels and product specifications in the cutting room.
  • Perform daily safety walks and address any non-compliance issues.
  • Participate in weekly Leadership Team Meetings and drive team accountability.
  • Oversee an ambitious training program aligned with the company’s Mission.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Department to meet product quality and food safety standards.
  • Maintain positive relationships with government agencies and third-party compliance organizations.

Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in the meat processing industry or senior production management/planning experience.

Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to hold yourself and others accountable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and comfortable using systems to measure and learn.
  • Capability to work in a cold, damp, and noisy environment with exposure to knives, hot water, and production machinery.
