They are currently seeking a Layout Technician to join their dynamic production team. This role plays a critical part in the fabrication and assembly of complex projects, ensuring dimensional accuracy and adherence to technical standards.
Position Overview
The Layout Technician is responsible for all types of layout work, including development and verification of materials for production. This role requires high-level blueprint reading, mathematical accuracy, and collaboration with Fitters to ensure high-quality outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, technical documentation, and shop drawings
- Perform precise mathematical calculations related to dimensions and tolerances
- Verify and identify materials according to procedures and project specifications
- Suggest revisions to drawings when necessary
- Assist and collaborate with Fitters as needed
- Perform layout checks and dimensional verifications prior to final inspection
- Perform Fitter duties when not required on layout tasks
- Follow safety protocols and demonstrate consistent high-quality workmanship
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Fitting experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading
- Previous experience in layout work is an asset
- Strong mathematical aptitude for geometric and dimensional calculations
